The Mind-Brain Problem Concerning Dualism and Materialism

Regarding the spirit and brains of dualism and materialism, I am facing the philosophical task of keeping dualism or materialism, depending on which is the most attractive to me. Therefore, I support dualism, that is, believe in a material and spiritual state, or I believe in materialism, that is to say that everything that believes in existence is material or material. I think that materialism is easier to prove, but dualism is more attractive.

At first, philosophers thought thought and brain were separate. It is called dualism. The theory of dualism thinks thinking and brain are composed of different substances. The brain is material, the brain is not important, or it is irrelevant to the physical world. However, when scientists began studying the brain in the early 19th century, there was a monism. This theory thinks thought and brain are one thing. In the past, philosophers knew little about how the brain works, or its behavior. However, some early scientists began to make important discoveries about monism. Their experiments show that the physical process is very important for understanding behavior.

Renedecart proposed dualism to solve the relationship between the brain and the mind. After recording the brain mechanism involved in the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid, he suggested that the pineal gland is the place where the heart interacts with the body. This dualism may provide a driving force for later anatomists to further explore the relationship between the anatomical and functional aspects of the brain's anatomy. Thomas Willis is considered to be the second pioneer in the research of neuroscience and brain science. In 1664, Cerebri Anatome (Latin: Anatomy of the brain) followed the pathology of the brain in 1667. Among these, he explained the structure of cerebellum, ventricle, cerebral hemisphere, brain stem and cranial nerve, studied its blood supply, and proposed functions related to different regions of the brain. Willis' circle is the name that first used the term 'neurology' as a result of investigating the blood supply to the brain.
