The Meryton Ball in Pride and Prejudice

How important is the first ball of the arrogance and the rest of the prejudice novel. Between the balls of Meryton, we encountered all the major and most important personality of the novel. We met the hero in the previous chapter. During the game you can learn more about Elizabeth's character and her attitude towards others in various situations, circumstances and environments. Elizabeth is lively, smart, witty and wise. She can mature and control emotions in an awkward situation.

In "Pride and Prejudice", Darcy and Elizabeth met the ball for the first time in Meriton. They do not have such a good impression to each other. The first opinion of Darcy is easy to understand because he said that "she is acceptable but I am not handsome enough to tempt me." (Page 8) When Elizabeth accidently heard his critical comment, she did not like Darcy being proud and satisfied then. When Darcy was persuaded to dance with Elizabeth, he refused to accept it. This was the first time Darcy understood the attitude of Elizabeth. For Darcy, it is shocking that Elizabeth refuses to dance with him, and young people with such wealth and reputation

In Meryton's ball, Darcy is very conservative. When Bingley asked him, he refused to dance with Elizabeth, saying that Elizabeth was not handsome enough to seduce him. Elizabeth 's pride was hurt, and she regarded Darcy as unpleasant and proud. When Elizabeth saw Vickham the first time, her prejudice against Darcy made her blind because she accepted everything Wickham told Darcy. The rest of the book is centered around Elizabeth's discovery of the essence of Darcy and Wickham. In the Nether Fieldball, this seems to never happen. When Elizabeth found late at night that Wickham did not participate in the ball to avoid Darcy, she decided "not to engage in any form of dialogue with him" (60). Her hatred for Darcy was clear, but when she asked her to dance, she accepted the mess.

Another similarity between 'pride and prejudice' and 'cinderella' is that the heroines of both stories meet at least one ball, where they meet future husbands. "Pride and Prejudice" has two balls, Meryton Ball and Netherfield Ball, but in contrast to "Cinderella", future spouses can not immediately play as Cinderella and Prince Charming. - In Meryton Ball Lizzy, while listening to Mr. West mistakenly talking to Mr. Bingley, Ignore her, Cinderella has to go home at 12 o'clock - otherwise it will be with her magical clothes The coach is a pumpkin. There is no literal deadline for pride and prejudice, but women in the novel are not so long because they have to get married.
