Her second novel, Mermaid's President (2005), won a feather award for the 2005 novel. The story relates to a woman who was attracted to the Benedictine monk after returning to the coastal island of South Carolina state, and that priest had only months to get the final vow. The title carved a woman saint and a maid of the island in a monastery's chair, said to be a mermaid before being transformed. It adapted to the 2006 film of the same name

Her second novel, Mermaid's President, was published in 2005. Located on the coastal barrier island of South Carolina State, we are exploring the theme of middle-aged marriage and self-recognition. It won the feather award for the 2005 novel, sold more than 2 million copies. Some of her early spiritual collection "Firstlight" was published in 2006. In 2009, she collaborated with her daughter Ann Kdd Taylor and published her latest book "Travel with Pomegranate: The Story of Mother and Daughter". It is in Europe and has recorded a trip of self discovery of mother and daughter.

Famous in the last few centuries, Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" (1836), the work has been translated into over 100 languages. Mermaids (devised by Andersen) are similar to German fairy tales that can only obtain immortal souls by undine, marrying people. Andersen's heroine influenced the bronze sculpture at the port of Copenhagen and influenced Western literature such as Oscar Wilde's fisherman and his soul, and H. G. Wells Sea. Sue Monk Kidd wrote a book called The Mermaid Chair based on the legend of Saint Senara and Zennor's mermaid.
