She and Robert developed such good attitudes, they continued their ten-year relationship through recorded tapes that share in detail what happened in their lives (Carver 102). Due to a highly optimistic view of life, Robert is taking a half full attitude overall. In contrast, Fulga is present and she seems to completely ruin her happiness with her overall misfortune and health. Unlike Robert, she takes an overall negative attitude toward life and makes her unkind.
Stigma is not limited to psychiatric disorders, but the Western society seems to be far more resistant to mentally disabled people than patients with related diseases such as disability. Regarding this issue, World Psychiatry states, "Unlike physical disability, the public believes that people with mental disorders and problems manage responsibility and cause them," (World Psychiatry, 34). Such prejudice, misunderstanding, and misunderstanding are a shame brought about by problematic social construction.
Representation of mental health problems: confronting social norms through dance - Anne-Marie Santerre
I realized that psychiatric disorders have a totally different view on the conceptualization of "disability" in our society, such as physical disorder, sensory disorder and so on. Psychosis is highly stigmatized and devilish in our culture and is often used as a scapegoat to explain guns, "departing" behavior and other criminal acts. "Mental illness" should not be used as a term to describe a person who acted violently (to be clearly inaccurate), it will contribute to the culture of silence when perpetuating this stereotype . That person can not get help with that. That is why I am a proponent of active mental health and have a doctorate in education / disability research. Sharing my story and doing research on the spot is a way for me to challenge a promising view of mental illness.
Evidence of the global impact of mental illness is increasing. Mental health problems are one of the most important factors in the burden of disease and disability around the world. Five of the world's top ten major obstacle causes are health problems. They are relevant in low-income countries as well as rich countries, including age, sex and social class. In addition, all predictions indicate a sharp increase in future mental health problems (2). People have long underestimated the burden of mental health disorders on health and productivity. The UK Ministry of Health and the British Industry Federation estimate that 15-30% of workers are experiencing mental health problems in some way during their work. Indeed, mental health problems are the main cause of disease and disability (3).
