Maya's lifestyle Ancient Mayan life Maya is an ancient civilization, they faced many difficult tasks in everyday life and were necessary to survive. The Mayan tribe existed around 400 BC and was taken over by Spain conquistadors until about 1524 (Sharer p. 3). They occupied three different lands. The southern region contains today's Guatemala. The central area extends from the current state of Tabasco to Northern Guatemala. Finally, the central region constitutes many places in southern Mexico (Coe p. 31).

Maya is a very sophisticated people. They can adapt effectively to the living environment of their hometown. After the development of countless generations, Maya people developed useful practices and lifestyles that allow them to live around them. Ancient religious ideas and doctrines such as those found in the sacred text of Popol Vuh (and its highly developed calendar system) have survived for centuries (Miller, Mary E). These documents contain spiritual beliefs, origins and creative stories that reveal the Mayan cultural history.

The history of the world has various cultures that contribute to our society. One of the cultures is Maya. Throughout history, Maya people have come into contact with Indian groups, especially Mexico countries from all sides. For a long time, part of Maya was politically dominated by Mexican rulers. In this case, usually marital relationship is necessary. Therefore, Maya people are as mixed as most Europeans. Maya countries have different climates. The greatest development is the center of lowlands and highlands in northern Guatemala. It also includes the Yucatan Peninsula, the northwest to the isthmus of Tehuantepec, and the southwest to Bonderdor and Honduras and Salvador.
