John Updike 's Rabbit, Run has developed a novel using support characters and gained insight into the ideas and methods of the 1960' s. All support characters of Rabbit, Run are fascinated by Rabbit for various reasons, but not as deep as Jack Eccles. Jack explained the relationship with the rabbit to his wife Lucy, he said he was only playing the role the neighbor minister should play, but he saw more obsession with the rabbit. All other support characters have a reasonable connection with Rabbit. Because Janice is married, Ruth said "I did not give up" (Updike, 80), Tothero is a former basketball coach, but Jack is a little disappointed.
This novel tells us that a Californian housewife, Oedipa Maas, fell into a mysterious history mystery when her former lover died as a co-enforter named her heritage. The Oedipa adventure chance is a set of postage stamps that may be used by the secret underground postal service Trystero (or Tristero). According to the story of Oedipa gathered during his trip to Southern California, Trystero lost to Thurn und Taxis in the 18th century - a true postal system, but Trystero continues to exist until now (1960 's). That mailbox is camouflaged like a normal trashcan, and its slogan W.A.ST.E. (the acronym for "Silent Tristero's Empire") and the soft relief of that symbol are frequently displayed. Although the existence and plan of this dark organization has been clarified little by little, there is no possibility that Trystero will always exist.
One aspect of connecting Oedipa and the audience is paranoia. Unlike Maxwell's devil, in a closed system, readers and Oepipa have contacted the expanding Pinchon fictitious system, including more and more aspects of modern America. As an inefficient sorter, both readers and Oedipa are in a state of confusion or delusions. Paranoia not defined as psychosis refers to the tendency to find meanings where there are meanings in symbols and cases where there is no meaning. Upon reaching the climax, Oedipa saw a soft back horn all over her. ยง The collar that she found was not made up of other strange badges, but it was made from a sparkling and sparkling alloy, but it is a pin shaped like a corner behind Trystero. Mute and everything (page 111). This makes us wonder as if most witnesses she is thinking are whether she is just delusive or whether there is conspiracy involving Trystero.
Investigating thermodynamic entropy and information theory reveals a fuzzy relationship between Oedipa Maas, Maxwell's devil and No.49's crying Tristero system. Through a complicated and chaotic adventure, Odipa looks for the truth about Tristolo and hopes that it will save her from the watchtower (Pynchon, 11). Until she found Tristero, Pynchon waved this elusive message on the head of Oedipa. However, interference from thermodynamic entropy and entropy of information theory prevents messages from being transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver.
