The Manor: A Day in the Life of a Medieval Serf

In the Middle Ages, prices were all ordered and must be paid, and there were contracts to be complied with. Everyone is evaluating to determine the lifestyle and the future of you and your descendants. Since serfs are at the bottom of the pyramid, you must work from sunrise until sunset. The Lord and the woman live in a glorious castle full of servants. There are obviously many things to change. And this is the reason to know more about our history.

The lowest level among the medieval social class is serfs or farmers. Nearly 90% of the medieval European population are serfs. Serfs are regular villagers working in the land of a mansion. In order to protect the country and to live, farmers need to cultivate the land and do other work that the Lord needs. Serfs can compare with slaves; they are forced to work on the land of a mansion without the permission of the landlord. However, unlike slaves, serfs can not purchase, trade, trade or trade. The serfs live in a small community called manners that are governed by local lords and vassals. Most farmers are serfs. In the Middle Ages, living in a mansion was very difficult. All the medieval farmers were surrounding the mansion. The mansion is land owned by feudal lords. The lord lives in a mansion or a castle. In addition to the village there are forests / fields for hunting, and lords for crops, churches, grain factories and barns. The manor is usually protected by surrounding walls. Three types of land are divided into long strips. Wheat is one field, usually cultivated in autumn and the other is barley, usually cultivated in spring, the other one is not grown.
