East Berlin, 1984. A secret police of 100,000 East Germans. In a society where more than one-third of the 200,000 information providers population is monitored, people are forced to choose betrayal or silence. Secret police Gerd Wiesler (Ulrich Mühe) and a successful playwright Georg Dreyman (Sebastian Koch) are no exception in the lives of others as well. At first, they seemed to secure a firm position.
