There are 61 universities in the state of Alabama in the United States. Alabama University in Taraka / Rusa is the largest university in the state, and in the fall of 2014, 36,155 people entered. Decath's Calhoun Community College is the two-year largest university with 12,134 students. The smallest institution is Heritage Christian University, a Christian church related seminary that collects 88 students. The oldest institution was Athens State University in Athens established in 1822. There are also two-year eight-year colleges of four-year and three-year system.

Alabama's higher education program has 14 four-year public universities, two-year community colleges, 17 private universities, graduate schools and graduate schools. There are four medical schools in the state (as of the fall of 2015), Alabama University Medical School, South Alabama University and Alabama Orthopedic Surgical School and Edward Orthopedic Surgical School - Auburn Campus - Two veterinary universities (Auben University) and Tuskegee The University of Alabama, School of Dentistry (Alabama University College of Dentistry), Ophthalmology Department (Alabama University Birmingham), 2 pharmacies (Auben University and Sanford University) and 5 Law Schools (Alabama Law School), Birmingham Law School, Cumberland Law School, Myers Row School, Thomas Good Joens Law School. Alabama's public higher education is supervised by the Alabama Higher Education Committee and the Alabama Higher Education Bureau.
Alabama is well known in the United States; when asking residents of any country in that country, you may say that Alabama is religious, friendly, historic and historical and attractive in the south . Universities in Alabama reflect these values very well and in our rankings we can find Christian schools and popular historical black universities and universities alot.
