The Life and Writing of William Faulkner

The birth of the Modernist movement in American literature was the result of the collapse of the society after the First World War. The writer adopted a decent lighting style apart from traditional literature. One of the writers is William Faulkner, whose personal style features the use of his "consciousness flow" and writing from multiple angles. The impact of World War I on society was much more serious than previous war. It shocks the world with new deadly weapons such as toxic gases, high death toll, first full-scale war, and ripping people between modern and traditional.

William Faulkner was born in New Albany, Michigan in 1897, but most of his adult life spent at Oxford University in Mississippi. When Faulkner was young he showed artistic talent, drawing poetry, writing poetry. However, Faulkner's writing career started very slowly. In June 1918, he accepted an invitation to be a trainee of the Canadian Air Force. His short service at the Royal Air Force will also serve him for his written novels, especially his first published novels, soldiers' salaries. In February 1926, Boni and Liveright issued soldier salaries with 2,500 versions. That book failed but Faulkner did not give up. Three years later, he announced his most famous work, Sound and Fury. In autumn 1938, in New York, Faulkner started writing a short story "Barn Grill". As part of the "American Short Story Collection", "Barn Burning" became a short film. William Faulkner has written many novels, novels and short stories throughout his life. Most of Faulkner's works were published in the 1920s and 1930s. Faulkner was relatively unknown until it won the Nobel Prize for literature. William Faulkner received the Nobel Prize in 1949, but he did not receive the Nobel Prize for literature at the Stockholm City Hall until 10 December 1950.
