Almost every other criminal in America 's history has a motivation to commit a crime, which confuses the public, making it hard to understand the crime because there is no crime this time. There is no reason to kidnap Leopold and Robe and kill Bobby Frank. They all come from wealthy families and do not need the ransom they want. They are seen as impossible murderers and it is causing problems to the public. If two boys can kill without reason, then other kids can do the same.

This film is based on the true story of the murder of young Bobby Frank by lovers Nathan Leopold and Richard Roe in 1924.
