An icon is an image other than its individual elements and has a symbolic meaning important to society. It is well thought that icons represent universal concepts, emotions, and meanings. Symbolic images are distinguishable, not their origins, production time, or for those who created them, but they have excellent symbolism and historical significance. The symbolic image plays an important role in American history and forms our identity through controversy, cultural awareness, historical events.
To outline the size of the meaning of iconic photographs, the author analyzes eight specific examples of 20th century news photographs in 6 chapters: "Mother of Immigrants" by Ve Day, Eisenstaedt "King of Times Square", Joe Rosenthal's "Iwo flag raising" "Jima" (and its twins started from 9/11/1), Kent's protest after the villagers of Tent Bang fled, accidental casual surprise A bomb attack, the protesters block tanks at Tiananmen Square and explode and challengers of Hindenburg
A famous photograph was taken on the street of Times Square in New York on August 14, 1945. It was also known as the V - J day as it was the day the United States defeated Japan. This world famous photograph was taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt. This picture is also called "The Kiss" because George Mendonsa is kissing Greta Zimmer in this picture. Jimmer did not expect her to be kissed by a strange sailor. Even if George had a date with another woman, he was unable to wait to express his feelings, so when he saw Gretta, he kissed her in the middle of Times Square . Eisenstadt is taking pictures of people celebrating enjoying the end of the war. Then he saw someone running in the middle of Times Square, the couple was kissing. Everyone is an American, especially patriotic. George committed a crime by sexual assault against Gretta, but this image changed everyone's life by showing the comfort and happiness of American people.
Americans have more than many other places in the world. In the 1950s, the average family was less than 1,000 square feet with 2 beds and 1 bathroom for 3 people. Today, the entrance-level house is 2,500 square feet, five people costs 31 times more. I do not know how we can have half the people, but obviously we think we need more space and "things". This is the focus and influence. This is an effective income source. I think Mike Allison recently told me the same thing. I could not hear my ears and heart. Alison 's approach is different; he tells us that we work too hard. For us who are trying to transcend nature by immersing in work, that is not the right thing.
