The purpose of this paper is to explore nursing research focusing on the influence of medical environment and to sympathize with the environmental theory of Florence nightingale.

Nurses have their own ability to apply their observation techniques to understand the role of the design environment to rehabilitate patients. This gives nurses the opportunity to participate in research that directly affects care behavior.

In order to discover the subject areas of today's nursing research, descriptive statistics on 67 health care design related research papers were published from 25 nursing journals. Data was also analyzed to clarify research design, research method, research environment. These data are part of ongoing research

Descriptive statistics indicate that the topics and settings that are most frequently quoted are consistent with the focus of current patient care quality and safety in acute and intensive care settings. The most frequently cited research designs and methods are consistent with early development in the field of knowledge.

The results of this study can make several claims. First, education is essential for continuing knowledge development in this field. Second, we should continue to think that multiple methodological studies are important for medical research. Finally, the bedside nurse is in a best position to help all of us through research and to understand how the design environment affects patients in care behavior.
