Panthera pardus orientalis is a leopard subspecies of Primorsky Krai native to southeast Russia and northern China. It is listed as a very endangered species in the IUCN Red List. In the recent census, Indian leopard population is calculated to be around 12K to 14K in the early 21st century. Leopard usually lives in tropical rainforest and deciduous forest. Leopard is essentially nocturnal, like small and easy prey. Leopard is more likely to involve human collision of wildlife than tiger. Leopard lives near the edge of the forest and people settlement and is infamous enough to hunt in densely populated areas. Leopard is mainly a lonely creature. Unlike the cousin of the Lion who is pursuing pride, the leopard is raised on living alone. Their hunting has a serious impact on more shocking predators around them like Bangladeshi tigers. This is mainly due to the relatively small size of the leopard, the male has only 170 pounds, while the smallest female tiger is about 220 pounds. Because of this size difference, leopard is more difficult to capture and conceal prey, often using their smaller frame to climb trees and eat prey away from other predators. These leopards are dotted in other border countries such as India and Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. This is mainly due to the adaptability of Leopard.
