In this journey called life, the middle age may be one of the stages of stress. Now is the time to reevaluate to guide us about the most complicated life problems, to question the long-standing beliefs and values, to encourage us to review who we are and who we want to be. In the middle of adulthood, people tend to establish a career, settle in relationships, start a family, and develop a sense that it is the overall picture (Cooke & Rousseau, 1984). The goal of this period is to nurture children, work productively, participate in community activities and organizations and return it to society (Wang, 2006).

● Summary The middle-aged period of life is characterized by complex interactions of multiple roles. The purpose of this chapter is to summarize studies on core subjects and unresolved issues of middle-aged themes, such as balancing work and family responsibilities in physical and psychological changes associated with aging. Middle-aged development areas have emerged against the backdrop of substantial changes in the population. In the section on phenomenology of middle-aged development, we will introduce images and expectations that include apparently different middle-aged viewpoints, that is, peak periods and crisis periods. We propose a conceptual framework for studying multiple patterns of change in middle age.
