The Island of Crete

Crete was once a strategic military base in World War II, but Crete is now a wonderful Greek asset full of history, culture and beauty. Crete is the largest island in Greece, located in the southeastern part of the Mediterranean. Not only 550,000 Greek citizens live in Crete but also more than a quarter of tourists visiting Greece will visit. Crete is an island filled with cultures and festivals. Celebrate the day allotted to that patron saint in every town, and there is culture and wine festival throughout the summer.

Since there are not many major cities in Greece, I chose Crete. Crete is the largest island in Greece and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean. It is located 60 miles south of the mainland of Greece. Crete is a place where Minos' ancient culture began, and one million tourists visit the ancient ruins of Minos and the remains of Crete every year. The farmers there will harvest olives, grapes, oranges, lemons, grapefruits and potatoes. Sheep and goats are raised in Crete. There are lots of beautiful scenery such as mountains of nature and ruins of ancient Minos, so I definitely want to visit there.

The period of the palace was from 3500 BC to 2300 BC, from 2300 BC to 1700 BC, from 1700 BC to 1500 BC, from 1500 BC to 1220 BC in the court, the latter from AD 1220 to 1050 AD.
