Telegraph was very valuable during the Second World War. It enables immediate communication between the commander and other military forces. At the personal level, telegraph enables communication between families and friends all over the world. For the first time in history, a new day can travel around the world. With the availability of new information, people become more aware of the situation and are more involved in domestic issues. The history of Morse code is always intertwined with the history of another invention, namely telegraph. Considering that the most widely used telegraph system was invented in 1837 by Samuel Morse, this is not surprising. Basically, Morse's telegraph uses a simple switched electrical pulse sent over a long distance wire to another party's other telegrapher. In order to communicate via the newly invented telegraph system, Morse and his assistant Alfred Weir developed the alphabet now known as Morse code. In 1844, Morse sent his first famous message from Baltimore to Washington, DC. He was educated at Yale 's Phillips College, then Yale University, Samuel graduated in 1810. After graduating from Yale University, he moved to the UK, lived there from 1811 to 1815, and succeeded in screening his work at the Royal University of the Arts in 1813.
