The Innocent and Death Penalty

At the beginning of chapter 7, Lewis Vaughan asked us: "Does society allow one member to die as a result of a serious crime?" (P. Even if people sin, even if it is bad they should still have rights. The opposition against the death penalty is said to have not overturned the fact that victims violated the law. Stephen Nathanson argues that "those who committed horrible crimes should still be treated to some extent, as they are still alive and functioning."

Two long reports - "No Innocence and Death Penance: Risk of Innocence" (1997) and "Innocence and Death Penalty: Risk Assessment of Miscalculation" (1993). A list of 127 defendants released from condemned prisoners; despite the guilty doubt, the eight lists have still been executed. The innocent list of the Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC) ("Innocence: Free from Death Prisoners") can be cited as supporting the assertion that 102 innocent prisoners have been released from deaths nationwide Many. The list was promiscuously accepted as final. However, reviewing facilities and sources of lists poses a serious problem of whether many of the innocent prisoners on the list are in fact innocent. In 1993, Don Edwards, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Citizenship and Constitutional Rights of the House of Representatives Parliament of the House of Representatives, asked the Death Penalty Information Center to prepare a report on innocent people concerning the death penalty. The Center's report lists 48 suspects who have been released from death row for the past 20 years because evidence of innocence was later discovered. More and more other cases in the next year urged us to publish another report. This report is paying particular attention to the significant reduction in appeal opportunities and presents new evidence of innocence. The Federal Fund of the Death Penalty Resource Center has been completely withdrawn and the Fund Center has helped to identify and confirm several innocent people mentioned in this report. Some courts are now taking a position that they can continue executing even if the defendant is found guilty of reasonable doubt.
