Narcissus' s wisdom lived in pure academic life, but when Goldmont became a part of his life, he himself is fighting the emotional part of his mind I discovered. Goldmund is a completely opposed person, an individual living in a fulfilling life, but fighting these desires due to the influence of his parents. Even though the two are opposite, even if the name is figurative - narcissus is a manifestation of pure wisdom and the name of Goldmund is translated as "golden mouth".
