The Incident Command System

In dealing with emergencies, emergency services are facing great challenges in the field of operation, whether or not they deal with small or catastrophic disasters. Many of the difficulties are not caused by actual events but by the formation of rescue teams by various agencies and personnel. For the benefit of all participants, it is necessary to establish a unified command structure to effectively coordinate and supervise the tasks that need to be achieved.

Accident Command System (ICS) - Created by the California State Fire Department in the mid-1970s. The EOC structure mimics the Incident Command System (ICS) used by all government agencies and first responders such as police and firefighters. Using this structure speeds communication with civic authorities and provides frameworks and systems for EOC members to effectively carry out their obligations. Incident Command System, an interdisciplinary organization of Incident Command Team, provides comprehensive technical leadership and supervision on all aspects of crisis management, coordinates overall response, and approves all actions. A command system system designated by an accident command system including a combination of facilities, equipment, personnel, procedures and communication means is designed to operate within a common organizational structure and to help manage emergency resources (4 ).

In many ways, the most important adaptation function of disaster planning is the use of the National Incident Command System (ICS). ICS is part of the National Institutional Accident Management System (NIIMS). NIIMS is a system that improves coordination of operations among Fed. Originally designed for federations involved in the control of forest fires, ICS is currently being used by federal and non-federal organizations for various events including disasters. ICS provides a management structure that can be expanded as necessary to properly manage the growth of the business. Disaster plans make extensive use of ICS structures and terminology to ensure that accident workers can easily extend their management structure using ICS programs and tables. Does the hospital manage the disaster completely or is it participating in a unified command structure with other hospitals and institutions?
