The Impossible American Dream

Novel "Great Gatsby", F. Scott Fitzgerald combines various themes, but the most popular message is the impossibility of the American dream. Fitzgerald wrote two kinds of people: these people still seem to be doing the ideal life of those struggling to realize their dreams. Tom and Daisy look like two roles have it all: beautiful houses, full of beloved spouse, beautiful child, there are a lot of money (Fitzgerald 6; ch.1). But they are not happy, there is something in the end.

This is impossible, but as everyone tries to achieve their dream, they can be happy or succeed. American dreams are stronger or better than anyone else. Fitzgerald claimed that this "American dream" can not be reached. Whatever it is, something that goes beyond a social ladder, or gets a girl, or simply feel satisfied with their life, it can not be reached. There always is something that stops people from realizing their dreams. Whether it is inferior social status or restriction, or other obstacle beyond dream control, it is really not something you can enjoy
