Literature plays an important role in almost every aspect of life. The importance of literature for Christian world view is immeasurable. Literature is often defined as works of excellent or artistic value, literature was part of our world since its establishment. In the first book of the Bible, I will introduce the story of creation. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, the earth has no shape and no cavities, the dark side is deep, the Spirit of God is floating above the water.

The crisis of Christian education is quite easy - there is no excellent literature (unless appropriate) to be read by Christian students. Is "classical" like Aristophanes and Petronius suitable for reading by Christian students? So how about worldly writers such as Plato, Aristotle, Cicero? The doctrinal questions and answers of Christian education hidden for centuries are limited to most of the easy works of the Gospels, neither of which is also edited. Christian leaders such as St. Jerome (AD 340 - 419) emphasized the promotion of scholarship in the church and the spread of the monastery lifestyle. Jerome went to Israel and translated it from the most surviving Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek manuscripts with various verses of the Old Testament and the New Testament. He made the Bible with the ancestor Latin of my era. A major debate involves the value of a pagan literature to counteract the illiteracy spreading within the class of the church.

This course provides historical research on the origins of Christianity by focusing on the New Testament, by analyzing the literature of the earliest Christian movement in the historical context. The theology theme will take most of our attention, but this course does not attempt to use the New Testament as a Bible for the appropriation of theology. Instead, the emphasis is on the importance of the New Testament and other early Christian literature as a source of ancient literature and historical research. The central organizational theme of the course focuses on the differences within early Christianity.
