The Importance of Informal Work Practices at Blue Collar Occupations

Today, work is one of the characteristics of people. Work may affect the perception of the human world, health, social relations, and emotional state (Vallas, Finlay and Wharton, 2009: 5-7). Therefore, work is not only a means to earn income but also a mechanism to bring people into society. There are literally thousands of types of jobs such as teachers, plumbers, checkers, scholars, engineers, doctors, astronauts, poets, gatekeepers. Blue-colored workers are engaged in labor and usually work with both hands. The skills required for blue collar work vary depending on the job. Some blue collar work requires formal training and qualified highly trained personnel. These workers include aircraft mechanics, plumbers, electricians and structural workers. Many blue-collar employers hire unskilled, unskilled workers to do simple tasks such as cleaning, maintenance, and assembly line work. White-collar workers usually work in the office. The level of education is the main difference between blue collar and white collar work. Work in white color usually requires formal education.
