The Importance of Hymns in the Congregational Church

The importance of hymns in the congregation "When you sing hymns, hymns, spiritual songs in your heart, as you teach and encourage each other with all your wisdom, the word of Christ will fill you Colossians 3: 16 (NIV) The congregation council is not a new religion today in the United States. This early sect dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Meanwhile the British participated in resistance to the established church.

In the mid-nineteenth century, the British Church established several churches throughout the country using the hymns of congregation. Especially when the priest Josiah Ransome - Kuti (Fela Kuti 's grandfather) started making hymns at Yoruba, hymns became popular music themes in the Nigerian society. Because of his popularity, he was invited to record albums in London in 1922. There are currently two popular music streams based on social status. Chorus music and classical music became favorite of wealthy and educated Nigerians from the late nineteenth century to the early twentieth century. For less well-off people, traditional music is still the most popular in brass bands, and this has changed. Originally colonial police and military, they gained interaction when they coordinate traditional music and brought them to more audiences. A folk brass band is about to be established, but the most popular one is the Cala Val Las Band (aka Lagos Mozart Orchestra).

Methodist schools are known for their widespread use of hymns in their emotional service. Early missionaries were loyal to their tradition and introduced hymns to their congregation. These early hymns still sung still by some Methodists like Tonga Free Church and Tonga Church have Tonga's songs and simple and short Tonga's lyrics. These and other music have special Tonga music symbols. Traditional music is preserved not only in songs sung with traditional apologies but also in wonderful works of royal family and aristocratic weddings and funerals. Tonga Radio broadcasts daily records from Hon'Ve'ehala, aristocratic master of the famous nose flute. This music is not popular music; it is a valuable heirloom that was preserved by experts and taught according to the needs of special occasions.
