The Importance of Hand-Washing in a Hospital Environment

Setting proper hand washing at the hospital is an important reason for patient health. Nationwide hospitals have stopped employees' washing their hands before leaving the ward. Because of the fact that they are grabbing things at the hospital, the patient has undergone simple surgery and will stay longer. The three major infectious diseases seen by patients are c - Diff (C. difficile), MRSA (methicillin - resistant Staphylococcus aureus), and Norovirus. "If employees follow CDC (Disease Control Center) guidelines, we can reduce employer infection by a third" (Creedon 208-209).

Hand washing is the most fundamental step in the safety and health of the hospitality industry. The employer plays an important role in ensuring that employees wash their hands when necessary. The importance of hand washing applies not only to employees in the hospitality industry but also to all of us. As mentioned earlier, hand washing is the best way to prevent various diseases, as our hands are used for many purposes including food consumption.
