The Importance of Exploring Student Perspective When Making Educational Policy

Educational policies are usually formed without the voice of the most influential person, the student. Cook-Sather (2002) asserted the inclusion of a student's view of its own voice that influences the educational policy of "approve students to look positive: towards change in trust, dialogue and education" doing. Cook-Sather understands the influence that easy access to electronic media has on his place. "Changing the world and changing it, recognizing a profound and unprecedented way and corresponding student's power" (Cook-Sather, 2002, p.200.

In addition to analyzing national policies, we will also explore the important aspects of civil education, that is, the experience of the student. Using data from the nationally representative National Education Progress Evaluation (NAEP) Student Citizen Education Survey, we will look at the types of activities students participate through citizen activity reports. As with the policy checklist, the student's self-reporting experience reflects the emphasis on citizen education based on discussion within the classroom. Figure 1 shows that discussions on current events are frequent and opportunities for community involvement and participation in simulated democracy are not occurring so frequently.

Our national dialogue and federal education policy are focused on students who acquire a four-year degree. Bachelor's degree programs are important, but students need to consider a wide range of alternatives. These alternatives include labor certificates and industry certification that will lead to high wage jobs and allow people to continue to receive education. New government and Congressional leaders should support the province of education other than these degrees and support the state and the country's efforts to make students aware of these ways. We urgently need new education and labor policies that are compatible with the economy of the 21st century, but we need further integration and coordination between the Ministry of Education and the Department of Labor.

Access to quality education is an important part of becoming a student. Therefore, please do not disregard such a position. This is part of the ranking that makes up the ranking table. In addition, although several educational policies are now passed, students must also have a stable expression in this educational process.
