Mass media is thought to be a universal force that shapes the ideal of appearance, and it has been shown to adversely affect women's body image. There are few studies focusing on the effects of exposure to media on male body images. In the current experiment, 158 men are exposed to television commercials containing ideal men or neutral images inserted between segments of television programs. Participants were hindered from dealing with body images and attitudes towards appearance variables to assess adjustment effect. The results show that participants exposed to ideal image ads are more depressed than participants exposed to neutral advertisements and have a high degree of muscle dissatisfaction. Inconsistent with past studies, I did not notice the influence of expression on changes in mood and image of the body
The influence of media exposure and physical dissatisfaction is strong between adult males and females, but young men and women seem equally vulnerable. In a recent study published in Journal of Media Psychology, the impact of exposure to media on the physical image of the early teens is being investigated. As they are experiencing biological changes during their puberty, they are particularly susceptible to the media, so research has been conducted by two Israeli researchers focused on adolescence I was wrong. Likewise, as the influence of the media shifts to adulthood, it plays an important role in character development, pressure from peers, and development of youth identity. Pubertal brain development also means the need to develop greater recognition complexity and personality

Physical satisfaction of university students of men and women was examined after exposure to thin ideal or neutral media images. Male and female participants were divided into thin ideal groups or neutral state groups. Ideal images of thin contacts will result in lower body satisfaction scores than neutral images and women are expected to give lower scores than men. The participants were 20 female students from Western Ontario University and 20 male students. Participants were given a media image and asked to fill out a booklet measuring the satisfaction of the body. There was no significant significant influence among media images, but there was a significant significant influence among sexes. F {1, 36) = 12, 99, / 7 <0.05, and some ri = 0.26. There was no significant interaction between gender and the image of the media. Evaluation of validity and possible problems of the research and topics of future research
