The Human Genome Project

The genome is all DNA in the organism, including that gene. Geneholding information is used to make all the proteins necessary for all organisms. In particular, these proteins determine appearance, behavior, processes, and fight infections in organisms. DNA consists of four similar chemicals (base, adenine, thymine, cytosine, guanine) and repeats millions or billions of times across the genome. There are 3 billion base pairs in the human genome. The order of these base pairs is very important and determines everything in the organism.

The completion of the Human Genome Project in 2001 is definitely a breakthrough in the latest major biomedical sciences (CRISPR may be a competitor here, but it is a derivative of the Human Genome Project in many respects).
