The House Is Taken Over! But By What?

The boundary between reality and fiction can sometimes become very thin. I noticed myself trying to decipher what Julio Cortázar truly imagined in the story of "House Taken Over". Through this story, I do not know what Cortázar wants to say to us as a reader, but I think I made some small relationship with it. This story tells about the older brother and sister who lived in the house of the great colonial period of their ancestral family. In most cases, my brother and sister are cleaning the house. I am only enjoying idle time. My older sister Eileen weaved with free time. This means that she refused to marry two men in her life and that she was unable to participate in marriage by knitting wool and thread together to cancel from work and start over from the beginning It supplemented. Anonymous brothers who are also narratives of the story likes to spend time reading French literature. Given French, I feel it is very feminine, emotional, dangerous and romantic. This is a big change in the meaning of "magical realism" in this work. Magical realism is the seamlessness of fantasy and magical events in actual works.

This story was interesting in terms of magical realism and original realism. These events seem to be magical or supernatural in brothers and sisters' lives, but still real psychosis of genuine or two real people. I think we never know

"A house that has been handed over" is that the Argentine brothers and sisters have discovered that their houses were invaded or "taken over" by entities called "them". In 'handed over house', supernatural mention is very subtle, but families' houses are known to be "taken over" by ghosts, probably ghosts of the ancestors mentioned at the beginning of the story. The narrator told the house that he held "memories of his grandparents, our grandfathers, our parents, and our childhood childhood memories." At first it seems this is not uncommon. In addition, ghosts seem to be a threat to their brothers. Because they will no longer be able to enter the house "being handed over" any more, they will not even be trapped in their own houses. Over time, the ghosts even took over the areas of their brothers and sisters and they ran away from the house. When saying "I feel sick", he puts the key in the sewer.
