The History, Duties, and Employment Opportunites of the Federal Aviation Administration

Historical institution was founded by Senator A. S. Mike Monroney on May 21, 1958. He proposed a bill to establish an independent Federal Aviation Authority to safely and effectively use the national airspace. On August 23, 1958, the president signed the Federal Aviation Law. This measure transfers the function of civil aviation institutions to a new independent federal aviation station responsible for the safety of civil aviation. The first director appointed was Retired Air Force General Elwood Quesada who began operations on December 1, 1958.

The US Federal Aviation Administration is a state agency with the authority to manage all aspects of civil aviation. Within the Federal Aviation Administration there is the Commercial Space Transportation Authority (FAA AST). It is responsible for ensuring the protection of US public, property, national security and foreign policy interests during commercial emerging or re-entry activities. AST also encourages and promotes commercial space transport in the United States

On 13th June, the representatives of the STEM Education Alliance and the Aeronautical and Engineering Board of Education (ATEC) met with the Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the policy makers of the White House Science and Technology Policy Office (OSTP). ATEC is a long-term member of the Alliance Leadership Council, which provides maintenance engineer programs on behalf of aviation employers, suppliers, and educational institutions. The STEM Education Core Group, the STEM Education Alliance, the National Manufacturers Association, and the US Board of Education to discuss how students collaborate with college and industry partners to tackle current and future STEM work We held a special briefing session.
