The Handmaid's Tale: Offred Chapters 1 to 4

At the beginning of the story is a woman looking back at her past (Offred). She and other girls live in military-based camps. She first explained the history of the room where she was and talked in detail about the old environment passed away. Changes in the room she mentioned are obvious; the words that support this may be "the oldness of the room, loneliness and expectation, something without shape or name" This happens every happy moment in this room is old It shows that. Offred - the narrator and the protagonist of The Handmaid's Tale. Offred belongs to the Handmaids category, and a fertile woman is being forced to give birth to elite, poor couple. Maid shows the commander who owns them by adopting the commander's name (Fred etc) and adding 'Of' before them. She has a husband named Flashback, Daughter, and Luke, but she has no family members or friends. Her cruel physical and psychological burden in Gilje's daily life tormented her and spread her story

Starting from "Maid Story", readers are placed in an unknown world where women's rights and freedom are deprived. We follow a maid story tour named Offred. In the first 15 chapters we got the information conveyed by Offred and saw her past life and the journey of her life that she faces now. Because these glimpses are not logical in sorting order or chronological order, they cause disorientation.

The maid's story is divided into two parts, night and various other activities. This novel can be interpreted as a double story, a story of Offred, and a maid story. The night part is just Offred, and the other parts (shopping, waiting room, family etc) are from the perspective of Offred, but a story that describes the possible lives of each maid. In many of these, Offred jumped over the past and the present. Because she reaffirmed the event that led to the decline of women 's rights and the details of the current life of her present life.
