The Gospel According to John

The Gospel of John begins by stating that God sent John the Baptist in order to recognize Jesus Christ as true light and Savior. The first Christ became a person who lived on earth among us, full of the truths of forgiveness and love (John 975). One day, when John was baptized in the Jordan River, Jesus was able to be baptized. If you are baptized, the Holy Spirit descends from heaven in the form of a pigeon and rests on Jesus. This sign tells John that Jesus is the Son of God (John 977).
