The Goodwill Industries: Helping People in Need

"We will work to improve local communities, eliminate barriers to opportunities, maximize potential capacity through learning and work force, and improve dignity and quality of life for individuals and families" (Goodwill Industries International, Inc. "May 12, 2009.") Goodwill is a non-profit organization that is always recognized as one of the 25 most exciting companies in the United States by Forbes magazine. That is because goodwill has served the community and changed its lives since its inception in 1902.

Goodwill provides programs to respond to young people, the elderly, veterans, disabled, criminal records, and other occupational needs (Goodwill Industries International, 2014). Mission Statement: By strengthening the community, removing barriers to opportunities, and by helping the necessary people get the utmost possibilities through learning and work, we will develop self-worth and lives of individuals and families We will try to improve the value of. Goodwill helps people bring out the maximum potential through education, skills training and labor, and strives to improve the dignity of individuals and families and the quality of life (Goodwill Industries International, 2014). Activity Highlights: (Based on the data from 2013) Last year, Goodwill helped over 8 million people in achieving the backup services necessary for career preparation and success in the banking, IT, and healthcare industries (Hoovers, 2014)

Today I visited Goodwill in central Texas. They did a lot of good for many people. They have their own high school and offer opportunities to acquire high school diploma. Goodwill also offers training and certification programs to help people in need find their meaning and help them accomplish through work. I am deeply grateful that I am encouraged that many people are helping.
