The Glory Of War Analyzed in Homer’s The Iliad and Ishmael Beah’s Autobiography, A Long Way Gone

Given the many historical events of our time, no one has insisted that humans are addicted to war. But the focus of the discussion is whether this addiction can be explained as glorious. People enthusiastic about marking it need only to see Homer 's "Iliad", "the world' s largest war novel", where the war produced heroes on both sides of the battlefield. It is noble and courageous, eternal life through songs and stories made by Homer, and every army's champion.

Beah, Ishmael made a big step forward. The memoir of a juvenile soldier made great progress. During the civil war, Ismail escaped from violence, just became a member of herself. Ishmael let you do something unthinkable when rebelists of rebels unified the front lines. After countless fighting and massacres, Ishmael is talking about his story. This book is really interesting. Readers learned about the real civil war in Sierra Leone, the inside of fighters and their feelings after they escaped destruction. Ryan Gamel Period 2 10/19/11 A long way from innocence to Ishmael The long way of Beah is the story of boys' soldiers, the way to the civil war nationwide, and his transition from childhood to adulthood. In his struggle he is coming further from his innocence and the long way to go is the perfect title for this book. When boys like Ismail are exposed to fear of fear and tragedy at such a young age, it is only human beings to adapt to the surrounding environment. "I believe that children have the ability to last longer than their own pain if there is opportunity" (p.169)

One of the important themes in the "long way" is that participation in war has lost innocence. A Long Way Gone is a memoir of Ishmael Beah, a young boy struggling to survive in Sierra Leone. In order to survive, he eventually attacked the village from the hands of armed groups and killed everyone. One of the themes of "a long way" is that war brings revenge to the innocent people, destroys childhood, and war becomes part of their daily lives. - Richard Pike's "Far away from Chicago" "Long way to Chicago" is an adventurous and funny story. The story takes place in the country's Joey Dowder's grandmother's farm. In the summer, my parents had to work in Canada, so Joey and my sister Mary Alice were sent to my grandmother 's house. At first, Joey felt uncomfortable because I had never met my grandmother before, but eventually he met her and they became best friends.
