The Giver

I know, I know, this score hopes you hate me. First of all, I would like to say that I read this book and I like it very much. It stimulates thought, is emotionally attractive and intelligent. Secondly, I like this book very much, but I am not keen to do a few things about it. So I completely opened my mind and entered the movie, I just wanted to experience the movie.

The first is positive. Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep were very good. Both bring a wonderful feel to your character In addition, using black and white for color is a good example of what the character sees. This movie looks nice and the action is very good.

Now I complain. First of all, I feel the setting of the role of support. There is a set of rules in the society they live in and they are taught throughout their life so that everyone follows these rules. However, all the characters at the beginning of the movie are breaking the rules many times. This removes the overall sensation the movie should give you, the information it provides.

Next, the book empathically connects you with Jonas and let you do what happened to him, but that movie is in trouble. In their moments, we must allow the audience to participate completely emotionally, but that is not the case. Unfortunately, this is a big negative factor because you want to care, but the movie is too lazy to make you feel emotional

Finally, the rhythm begins. The middle of Jonas is trying to achieve what actually happened, and he is in a hurry, and he is determined. This is the most important part of the movie, but unfortunately it is in a hurry. Then the movie slowed down, and it brought a very anti-climax end

In general, if you are a big fan of this book, then obviously you should see it. Who knows, I may be the only person I do not drink this movie. But tones and storytelling are sloppy, and the movie can not make you feel better. So the result is a mediocre film for me. I still encourage you to see it with your own eyes, but ask yourself: Do you like this movie or do you want to love this movie for this book?
