The Gateway to Future Disaster or to Temporary Prosperity

The Keystone XL pipeline passes through "over 1000 water bodies" such as rivers, streams, aquifers and "about 2,500 wells" (Swift). This may be a disaster waiting to happen; potential water pollution can cause serious ethical problems for the surrounding citizens and peasants. Extensions of XL are planned to reach the Gulf Coast from Canada's southeastern province of Alberta to Steel in Nebraska state and finally connecting to the existing keystone pipeline.

Natural disaster: If a disaster occurs such as floods, tsunamis, landslides, earthquakes, volcanoes, the population will move temporarily or permanently from that area. In this case, migration will be a more survival strategy because funds, housing and work are often lost due to natural disasters. For example, Hurricane Katrina expels almost all New Orleans population, leaving some economic and social challenges to the community and the government.

Most disasters require temporary external assistance. These should be culturally appropriate in order to enhance the capacity of the affected community and enhance friendship and ability to cope with future disasters. Disaster prevention should follow the principle of democracy. This is disaster aid for "people, people, and people", accepted, acquired, adapted, and can be applied to long-term community participation and empowerment. Similarly, the SPHIA project promotes humanitarian charter, promotes accountability, and identifies minimum standards for disaster relief to share good practice criteria.

MS NAUERT: Sustainability, sustainability - something like a natural disaster. And some people are allowed temporary protection status, and that is what that term means - temporary.
