The five people you met in heaven is Mitch Albom's novel. It follows the life and death of a maintenance worker named Eddie. Eddie was killed and sent to heaven, where he met five people who had a significant influence on him while he was alive. It was published by Hyperion in 2003 and has been on the New York Times best seller list for 95 weeks. The story begins with an elderly gentleman called Eddie who is in charge of maintenance of an amusement park called Ruby Terminal (also known as Salt Pier). Eddie is the well-known face of the terminal. Sometimes called "Eddie Maintenance" because it patches his overalls. Although he was seriously injured as a soldier during World War II, Eddie was able to finish his work (he was never satisfied with his dog life and he inherited his work from his father).
