The First Type Writer

The first type of author, called "Sholes & Glidden Type Writer", was manufactured by E. Remington & Sons of Gunman Maker in 1874 - 1878 in Illinois. This is not a big success (less than 5000), but a worldwide industry that brings mechanized, tedious and time-consuming office work has started. Christopher Latham Sholes is the creative genius of the first typewriter. Many of the basic principles he introduced set industry standards.
