The Figurative Language of the Bible

In 2011, the Barna Group completed and announced a five-year study on why many teenagers refused to accept Christian churches. Research shows that one in four of these skeptical young people believe that "Christianity is anti-scientific". This statistic is not that surprising as Christians are notorious for convinced believing in Gen. 1 chapter. It shows that the universe was created by God in only six days. Obviously, this story contradicts myriad scientific records and theory, and it is almost impossible for a person with a scientific mind to live faith.

First of all, English is not the original language of the Bible. The Bible is an old book. At that time, spoken language and written English did not exist. Instead, the three languages ​​Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek make up the Bible content. The Old Testament is written in Hebrew, and some places are written in Aramaic (eg Daniel). However, Greek is a common language of the Roman Empire and is also the language of the New Testament. Any Bible we have today is translated from documents written in these ancient languages, which means there is no correct English translation. Vocabulary is very poetic but we will not say that anymore. Needless to say, our understanding of these ancient languages ​​improved over time and we helped translate the Bible. That's why I am looking for a Bible that we can understand.

I am always interested in the original language of the Bible. You may be surprised to learn that the Bible we have now is not a Bible. Originally the Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew (and long before writing on paper). The New Testament is mainly Greek. The Gospels were written for decades after the events that they claimed they explained. Jesus' own words may be spoken in Aramaic. When I become more conservative, I want to know these primitive words so that I can get closer to those who motivate them. However, the more I became free, I started to find problems between text and text versions over the years. The more texts and plates I studied, the more I notice human beings, but I do not know much of the soul's inspiration.

As in Hebrew and Greek, the Bible's original language has idioms and concepts that are not easy to translate, as well as other languages. Translation of bilingual idioms is provided in the language. For example, in the New American Bible, this is a Protestant translation such as English Catholic translation, as well as James King, Darby Bible, New Revised Standard Edition, Modern Literary Edition, and the New American Standard Bible. Translations such as New International and New Life translations may try to provide related idioms, but they are considered more literal (or "word by word").
