Why did women in the field of nursing decide to enter the field of care? There are many reasons why women decide to be nurses. The nurse supports health, stops illness, and helps the patient resolve the disease. Nurses are supporters and health educators for patients, family units and communities. They observe, emphasize and record the patient's symptoms, reactions and improvements. A nurse gives medical aid and is a person who helps people of all ages get healthy.

I have been involved in nursing informatics for nearly 30 years, but in this field I have made many developments. In the early 1980s, nursing informatics was defined as "computer technology applied to care in all fields - nursing services, nursing education and nursing research" (Scholes & Barber, 1980, p. 73). Since then, we have completed the breakthrough definition provided by Graves and Corcoran (1989).
