The Farmers’ Movement

Farmers are dissatisfied with where they are. In the F file, F B. Tracy saw why the farmers resisted. This is not only because they are being misrepresented, but also their houses and farms are seized, their crop prices are lowered, and railroad companies sending their crops to the market are charging more It is to discover. In 1890, Ben Tillman looked to governor's competition. Farmers gathered after his candidacy, and Tillman easily defeated conservative candidate A. C. Haskell. The conservatives were unable to grasp the power of the state farmers movement. Planting elite will no longer automatically respect civil war. Not only that, Tilman's "humorous and vulgar speech attracted most people and was not as sophisticated as him." Tilman's campaign succeeded in developing Tilman's proposal and pet project. These include the establishment of a new state constitution and the national alcohol pharmacy system. Tillman has "pathological fear of black domination". The Caucasian elite enacted a new constitution regulating the suppression of blacks and poor white voting after the Mississippi model of 1890. And it survived appeals to the US Supreme Court.
