The Evolution of Public Administration in American Society

As research field and practice, administration continues to develop with the American society. The United States has undertaken a great cultural transformation with varying degrees of economic circumstances, and surviving and prosperous civil wars and world wars. Through all these changes in our country, one thing does not change. In other words, we are constantly changing and changing country. Administrative theory and practice forms are also developed concurrently with the history of the United States of America.

In collaboration with the Association of National Administration Administration Schools (NASPAA) and the Public Policy Analysis and Management Association (APPAM), the American administrative management association recently launched a new career website, PublicServiceCareers.org. This site provides a wealth of professional advice and articles, personal profiles of experienced civil servants, graduate degree information (MPA and MPP), and important event information in the public service field.

Once you have an administrative degree you can prepare for careers of various public services. The American Association of Government (www.aspanet.org) and other expert associations can provide some kind of support to career choice and job search survey. Most administrative officials are government departments or non-profit organizations. Government work includes policymaking, budget management, analysis, or provision of specific elements. For non-profit occupations, policy development, planning development and implementation, or financing is included. Career choices are as follows.

The people working in the government work for local governments, state governments, federal government, educational institutions, private sector, nonprofit organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Administrative work is available in the United States and abroad. For those who like travel, the administration of diplomatic services is particularly attractive. The Public Service Partnership and the American University Public Policy Implementation Association (ISPPI) annually publish the best places for job seeking in the administration. The 2009 list includes the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Government Accountability Office, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Information Agency, the State Council, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Social Security Administration, and the Department of Commerce.
