Euthanasia is a broad term used to deprive people of pity, murder, desperate patients and injured people and end their suffering. Kindly killing is a serious moral dilemma. However, euthanasia seems to contradict the most basic rule of life. In other words, murder is wrong. Discussions between philosophers and American society about euthanasia have been going on for decades. US laws prohibit suicide assistance by doctors, but there are many moral dilemmas in this problem. Euthanasia is an action aimed at ending life without pain. The textbook "Modern Moral Issues" acknowledges that euthanasia "kill people for mercy to alleviate suffering" (184). Euthanasia has two types, spontaneous and involuntary. It is important to pay attention to differences in voluntary euthanasia. In other words, a decision to end life is desired rather than involuntary euthanasia, which individuals do not need. I believe that spontaneous and involuntary euthanasia is morally acceptable and should be legalized.
