The Enduring Tradition of Marriage

The concept of marriage is a cryptic phenomenon, given the fact that most people are participating in, or will participate in, life from past history to now and beyond. For people living in today's romantic society, the reason for marriage seems self-evident, but in other cultures and times, marriage fulfills many different purposes. Merriam-Webster says that marriage is "legally and menstrual between men and women, who are bound by laws, regulations, customs, beliefs, and attitudes and that state the circumstances of partner's rights and obligations, and their offspring agreements Socially recognized union "if any)".

Heterosexual marriage is rooted in order of creation. This is not just a traditional problem. Marriage is intended to be a permanent contractual relationship, reflecting unconditional devotion to the Church to the Church (Ephesians 5: 25-27). God defines marriage as a combination of male and female, but in this combination, engaging in sexual relations is good, correct, and appropriate. Marriage customs may vary from culture to culture, but the basic sacred intent of marriage can not be changed only by preference, customs or culture. Orders of culture, tradition, or personal preference must subordinate to the word of God. Marriage can not be redefined in an unstable state of public opinion and can not be changed by cultural practices or social practices.

In this study, long lasting marriage was defined as a marriage lasting for at least 40 years after McKinnon and colleagues. Other studies have defined long lasting marriages ranging from 10 to 50 years or more. By limiting marriage to marriage lasting more than 40 years, samples unique to this study were born with a unique common culture. Abstract: This paper adds to recent literature on religious and marriage studies by examining the cultural protection of elderly couples using religion as long-lasting marriage. This study included qualitative analysis of 43 detailed interviews with married Christian couple. The couple reported the four main social situations that provided a sacred meaning for their marriage: prayer, worship and preaching, fellowship with the leading ceremonies.
