The Emotional Side of Infertility

Infertility can basically not be pregnant or can not become pregnant one year after unprotected sexual activity (Glover, 2008, p. 209). Of the many possible causes of infertility, 70% of the cases are caused by natural causes, the remaining causes are caused by idiopathic or unknown cause (Kraaij, 2009, p.19). Infertility is a complex medical problem that affects not only physical women but also many other aspects of her life.

Infertility affects one person in 10 pairs of American couple. Reasons for infertility include a wide range of physical and emotional factors. Approximately 30% to 40% of all infertility is caused by "male factor". "Factors of women" leads to 40% to 50% of couple infertility. The remaining 10% to 30% may be due to the contribution of the two partners, or the cause may not be determined. For men, it can be very embarrassing as a cause of infertility. But they want to keep their hearts high and do their homework and do their best. One reason for infertility is whether they have good sperm cell quality. There are five factors that may affect this. It is the usual number of the first sperm. Secondly, the number of sperm cells per ml of semen is affected. This is called concentration. In addition, it also takes into account the sporty, "swim" ability and speed, the number of sperm of the fastest swimmer.

Varicose veins are one of the most common causes of male infertility. Spermatic varices are varices of sperm around the sperm and may interfere with sperm production. Approximately 15% of normal men and about 40% of infertile men, left side is most common, both sides are most common at the same time. Retrograde ejaculation involves ejaculation that flows in the reverse direction in the bladder, not from the penis. There is a sphincter (ring muscle) that controls the flow of body fluids between the urethra (carrying urine and semen) and the bladder. Usually the bladder sphincter contracts and the sperm faces the urethra closest to the pressure area. The sphincter function is abnormal during retrograde ejaculation. The cause may be autonomic nervous system or surgery of the prostate. Retrograde ejaculation is a common complication of prostatic transurethral resection for the treatment of prostate cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia

Infertility occurs occasionally due to stress, emotional shock or any side effects of treatment. Pregnancy must meet three conditions: sperm must be present, fallopian tube must be opened, and ovulation must be able to occur. If one or more of these conditions are not met, the couple will suffer from 'real infertility'. Even if all three conditions are met, if the couple is not pregnant, the diagnosis is "low fertility rate". Male infertility is not uncommon. About one-third of infertility is due to women's problem
