When you think about a soldier you will think of a strong and polite man in a beautiful uniform that will help protect our country. In Harry Brown's article "What is War?" He said politicians use exciting words to avoid the reality of war. (Brown, 2014) He stated that the soldier was a hero, was promoted to imagine that young marching, winning the battle of glory, bringing peace and democracy to the world. (Brown, 2014) The Vietnam War was the longest war in American history and had a tremendous impact on soldiers and their families (Vietnam War, 2014).

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) was used to explain the effects of war on soldiers since 1980 and was later used outside the military to explain the effects of traumatic events on individuals. War may also have a major impact on the health of civilians. Hydrogen bombs in Japanese cities in Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed thousands and gave a bad direct shock. They also have a long-term impact on the population. Radiation injuries and birth defects in children have been occurring long before the bomb was destroyed.
