Lack of sleep greatly influences the ability of students to function well in the classroom. this is

The information gathered in this report confirms that the adverse effects of lack of sleep on the achievement of the student were collected through online survey (Appendix A) and were done at Iroquois Ridge High School on Wednesday, May 20, 2010 . 35 students from 9th graders to super seniors participated in the survey. Since analysis does not involve experimental manipulation, it is considered observational research. After the initial investigation, students who did not satisfy the recommended sleeping amount overnight judged the reasons for sleep deprivation and were asked to follow up (Appendix B Appendix) to learn the knowledge about the topic.

When investigating the effects of sleep habits on academic performance, it is necessary to include the theme of sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation affects cognitive and motor processes as well as emotional stability (Pilcher & Huffcutt, 1996). Taking into account the fact that sleep affects cognitive functioning, the number of sleep should be the main focus of college students, and for them the academic outcome is the main consideration. Pilcher and Huffcutt (1996) conducted a meta-analysis of existing studies on sleep deprivation and their effects on various functions during the day. They defined a partial sleep deprivation as sleeping less than 5 hours at night, short-term total sleep deprivation time of no sleeping period of less than 45 hours, and long-term complete sleep deprivation time of no sleep for more than 45 hours. Partial sleep deprivation is associated with a decline in cognitive function, but long-term sleep deprivation is associated with mood disorders (Pilcher & Huffcutt, 1996).
