In order to meet the needs of people around the world, the growing demand for improved food productivity encourages the use of sophisticated agricultural technologies where pesticides play an important role. Pesticides are widely used to increase agricultural products by preventing, suppressing, or alleviating the damage caused by pests (John et al., 2001). Since the middle of the last century, pesticides have been widely used throughout the world. They are mainly used for agriculture and animal production, and contain toxic and persistent substances (Beyer and Biziuk, 2008).
The impact of pesticides on nontarget organisms continues to be a major problem in society. Many studies have investigated the effects of pesticide exposure on many health problems, especially cancer. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of pesticides used for agricultural applications on human health using OECD environmental statistics and WHO health statistics. Data from this study came from 20 countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Fire) It is. Chicken) In this study, these countries were selected for data quality and data availability due to OECD environmental statistics and WHO health statistics.
Pesticides are used to protect the quantity and quality of crops. However, these chemicals may have side effects on human health and the environment. In order to minimize the effects of pesticides on human health, farmers need to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all stages of pesticide treatment. However, farmers who do not use PPE before spraying, spraying, spraying are based on experience and research data. Therefore, farmers are often suffering from acute and chronic poisoning of pesticides. Farmers must receive education on the importance of PPE in the use of pesticides. Domestic authorities need to provide the latest accurate, easy-to-understand information when training peasants to use PPE. This paper emphasizes the importance of PPE in the application of pesticides in agriculture.
Pesticides are any substance or mixture of substances used to prevent, destroy, prevent or mitigate pests (epa.gov). Pests can be defined as any living thing that causes plant diseases. Agricultural pesticides are chemicals used by farmers to prevent pests from affecting crop growth and productivity. Pesticides consist of active ingredients and inert ingredients. Commercial distribution of products using pesticides has specific labeling requirements. Active ones are harmful to pests and federal law demands that these ingredients be clearly marked in packaging. Inert ingredients do not cause damage and are usually present in the solution as a solvent, so no indication is required. (Inactive ingredients are not necessarily nontoxic.) All pesticides must be registered with the EPA for sale or distribution.
