In my field survey, children in primary school observed observing how to understand gender's role, especially in early childhood. I went to Hollingworth elementary school in West Covina, California. This is the school that I went among my elementary school. The school is just a 10-minute walk from my house in Los Angeles. I am most interested in first and second grade primary school students aged 6 to 8 years old. I looked at this perspective from a distant place and was a perfect observer. I went to school during lunch break and observed the children while taking a break. I only have notes and pens to write down what I have observed. I put myself in the flowerpot on the side of the "slow way" near the handball stadium. Before I started observing, I went to the principal's office to inform them about my research project.
