"

In the United States, introduction of school uniform started after 10 years of research showing the effectiveness of private schools. Several state school reformers cite this study to support policies related to the success of private and Catholic schools. However, in Catholic school literature, uniforms have never been considered a major factor in the influence of Catholic schools. Some administrators of public schools began introducing a unified policy to improve the overall learning environment and the student's academic performance. This is based on the assumption that uniforms are a direct cause of changes in behavioral and academic outcomes.

School uniforms are gradually returning to the classroom as a way to regain the sense of the community and promote a better learning environment for the school. Supporters link school uniforms to fewer behavioral problems and higher academic achievements, but at the same time they increase the pride and self-esteem of the school. Five years ago, this act began in Long Beach, California, and the disturbing acts and crime rates of schools dramatically declined. Several other major cities in the United States, including Chicago, Dallas, Sacramento, Phoenix, Seattle, Kansas City, Memphis and Baltimore, have adopted this approach over the past few years. As the Long Beach experiment shows, all these cities are seeing the same effect brought about by uniforms.
